The Best Makeup for Acne Prevention
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Even if you eat a great diet, get plenty of sleep and wash your face regularly, once you put makeup on your face, you could be undermining all
of your efforts of acne nodule prevention. Certain formulations of makeup can actually cause your skin to get worse. Alternatively,
some makeup is very good for acne prevention. Let's take a look at makeup, the good, the bad and the ugly.
The Good
Many of the brands of mineral makeup are fantastic for acne prevention. They are pure, natural and do not clog pores. Plus, most
people do not experience any allergic reactions to the makeup. They also go on very light and natural and feel wonderful on the skin.
If you are looking for a makeup that can actually improve your skin, look at the mineral makeups. There are some brands that you can
purchase online and are rather expensive; however, many of the brands that you can pick up at the drug store work just as well. You may
have to do a little trial and error to find which one works best, but it is well worth it. Mineral makeup offers great coverage, a natural,
glowing finish and a level of acne prevention that will back up and work with your skincare routine and other acne prevention methods.
The Bad
Liquid makeup was the standard for women for many years, but it isn't so great for your skin. Liquid makeup is more like a mask than a
makeup. The mousse makeups aren't so bad and the water based liquid makeup isn't too terrible, but it still amounts to chemicals being
slathered over your skin. And it can still clog your pores and cause acne. Also, when you use liquid makeup, you often find that you
get an oily shine shortly after application. This usually sends you to your purse for powder which you use generously. This only
exacerbates the problem. You skin is covered, it can not breathe and the pores are being clogged. In short, it is an acne machine in
the making. But it can get worse.
The Ugly
The heavy creams and pancake makeup are some of the worst things that you can do to your skin. These heavy, greasy makeup foundations
were popular in the 1980s and are still used on the stage, but their popularity among the general public has decreased considerably, thank
goodness. This is definitely the ugly of the group. This type of makeup is like an acne breakout waiting to happen. It is
thick, greasy and is like a heavy film over your skin. It was also customary to apply lots of powder to "set" the makeup.
If you want to be proactive in your battle against acne, you want acne prevention that works. One single method will not do the
trick. You need to have the right diet, the right health practices and the right makeup in order to have the best acne prevention regimen
possible. But when you find that balance, you will be rewarded with clear, glowing skin.
